Follicular Unit Extraction

FUE is an advanced surgical technique for hair restoration, which avoids the need for a linear scar – as seen in other surgical solutions.
It involves transferring healthy hair grafts from the area of the scalp where hairs grow without being affected by hair loss – typically the back or sides of the head. These hairs are then transplanted to a balding area, where it will grow as normal.
An alternative surgical solution to FUE is Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). Sometimes called ‘Strip’, FUT is a well-established surgical solution to hair loss, however it is also a more invasive form of hair transplant.
The difference between the 2 methods is that rather than removing a strip of donor skin from which to remove the follicular units – as in FUT, FUE extracts individual follicular units directly from the scalp, leaving minimal tiny dot scars – not a liner scar as with FUT.
